Max Bechtoldt is a senior sports journalism major at The Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University. Bechtoldt was born in Madison, Wisconsin, and decided to attend Arizona State University to gain new experiences and knowledge. Bechtoldt has a particular passion for writing about how sports and society interact and affect each other on a daily basis. His passion to try to make a difference in society through his writing. Bechtoldt is also a passionate photographer with experience in the field through both his work and school. Bechtoldt has also been involved in leadership courses at both the high school and college levels and feels comfortable making decisions. Bechtoldt is a skilled public speaker who has gained experience through advanced speaking classes in high school and his weekly radio show on the Arizona State student radio station Blaze Radio. His show The Why So Serious Show, has had the opportunity to broadcast live from professional events like The Waste Management Phoenix Open
